The Gering boys soccer team improved to 5-3 on the season after edging Cheyenne East 2-1 on Tuesday in Cheyenne. The Bulldogs have now won five of their last six matches and will be trying to improve on that this weekend at the Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference Tournament at the Landers Soccer Complex in Scottsbluff.

The Alliance boys track and field team received a nice shot of confidence Saturday in the Buffalo Bill Invite. The Bulldogs captured a runner-up finish in the always-tough meet, piling up 105 points. North Platte won with 133 points. Gering took fifth with 55 points, and Scottsbluff was sixth with 50 points.
