Scotus jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in its quarterfinal against Kearney Catholic. Behind 26 points from junior Grant Lahm, the top-seeded Shamrocks topped the Stars 72-57 Friday in the opening round of the Class C-1 state tournament.

Kianna Ibis had 18 points and 16 rebounds to lead top-ranked Omaha Benson, which started slowly, to a 63-36 win over Kearney in the Class A first round at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
